Another Wonderful week here in Morgan Hill
HOLY COW ANOTHER WEEK ALREADY? Man they aren't kidding when they say time flys when your having fun! It's been a great week down here in Morgan Hill. We have had a lot of roses this week (or great things that happened) but I have had a goal to learn Spanish, so I had my sister send me some phrases in Spanish and I have been learning them with flashcards. So we walked up to this door and started talking to this kind lady and we realized she didn't speak English so my companion asked if she spoke Spanish and she said Yes! I got real nervous and my companion looked at me and so we just dove right into it. All I can say is the gift if tongues is real!!!! Ha, with a few Spanish phrases lol. The Lord blesses you so much. We got her information and passed her onto the Spanish missionaries but we got answers to our prayers!! Also I have had the goal to learn the piano on my mission, but the only problem is we can never find a piano, and like magic we got an electric keyboard this week in our apartment!! So sister Grant and I are now learning the piano and it's SO FUN!! When you ask the Lord for anything he finds a way to help you!!
We get to do a lot of service here and I love it so much! Because it's so crazy expensive to live here a lot of people struggle to get by. So we get to help at a clothing donation center called Cacillias closet! So we sort a bunch of clothes into bins so that whoever needs back to school clothes, or nice work attire or a nice dress can come grab them for free. It's one of the greatest organizations. It's run by a small group of women and they help SO MANY PEOPLE. We get to meet wonderful people and I love it. We also get to help with a food donation program where people come on once a month and we give them groceries. We had some of the coolest experiences helping people this week. We are teaching some awesome families who are investigating the church and found a lot of people to teach this week. I am so excited. I love being a missionary.
What I learned this week:
Many of the Brethren have taught that understanding the Savior’s atonement better can change our nature. Specifically, understanding the enabling power of the Savior’s atonement can change the way we see the world and the trials that come our way. In short, the enabling power of the
Savior’s atonement changes “enduring to the end” to “enjoying to the end.”
The Savior's atonement is endless and reaches every single part of our lives. To me that is hard to wrap my brain around. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that He suffered for you and for me. I love him with all that I am. As I have been learning and studying the characters of Christ and how we can become like him, I am amazed at the love, kindness, selflessness that our Savior has. He has suffered all so we dont have to, and as we learn to fully use the atonement in every part of our life we will find the path of "enjoying to the end" instead of "enduring to the end." I love this gospel. I love my savior. I hope you all have a wonderful week!
Love Sister Wiser
