Hello Hello! Another great week has come and gone! I never thought I would be happy for summer to come to an end, but as a missionary I am so happy for school to start. hah everyone is now home and we are teaching a ton. It's the BEST.
Converted!!
We got to meet with our Indian family this week and they have been Hindu their whole life, however due to some life changing events this week they fully converted to Christianity! They took down all their idols and fully believe in Jesus Christ. It was so powerful and Sister Grant and I were completely speechless. We have been teaching the missionary discussions and they just smile and constantly say this finally makes sense. This gospel is amazing! WE ARE SO BLESSED!!
A New Way of FINDING!!
Our mission president has started a new initiative in our mission, its called the Family History Initiative, and its AMAZING. It runs through members and has brought a TON of success to our mission. Members give a little tri-fold pamphlet to their friends or co-workers to fill out, and then collect it from them. Then the members give the pamfletes to us and we work with the family history consultants to make a huge packet with family trees, pedigree charts, cool facts and a lot of information on families and why they matter, then Sister Grand and I get to take the packets back to the families and talk about why families matter and how we can live with our families forever!! It's a fantastic way of getting into homes,having wonderful gospel centered conversations and a non intimidating way for members to get involved in missionary work! Its a Win Win on all sides!! We just barely started this program and have presenting it a lot to the ward and stake but it has already made such a difference! I am super excited about it. SO moral of the story.. If you want to talk with someone about the gospel but aren't quite ready to hand them a book of mormon, introduce them to their ancestors and miracles will happen!!
I love being a missionary. Its the best. The gospel is so true and God has a plan for you. I have found the real power of the book of mormon and I love the true peace that it constantly brings. I hope you all are doing well. Have a wonderful week!!
