Splits, Spiders, and Spiritual Blessings :)

Exchanges

Got to go to the great land of Hollister and spend a day with Sister Needham. A fellow AGGIE!!! lets go Utah State!! we also found these cute little yellow flowers tracting.

SPOOKED

So.... A moment sister Smith and I are SO PROUD. We saw this massive spider outside our door as we went for a run one morning, and it stayed there all day! so when we got home we figured we would just catch it, because it was so big.. and we were both to scared to squash it. hah SO WE DID. and look how huge it is!! this is in a huge mason jar.. and its a black widow.. Ha so conquering fears one spider at a time!

Blessed

So this week at church a wonderful family we are working with came to church and really enjoyed it. :) they have been listening to the book of mormon during their commute and they love it! So that was super happy! And Martin's baptism is in 2 weeks!!! Woot woot! He is so fantastic and watched all of conference and has the most solid testimony!

Transfers

We got transfer calls this week and Sister Smith is heading to Monterey in a Tongan branch, which is so sweet. My goal is to make it to a Tongan branch before I leave my mission! And Sister Becker is coming to Morgan hill! She is so awesome and we are excited :)

The great Book of Mormon

I finished reading in Helaman this week and came across a super powerful scripture. Its Helaman 5: 43-49

This talks about a group of people who turned away from God and were extremely wicked so God encircled them with a very dark cloud to try and change their hearts. This stood out to me because I started thinking of what clouds encircle us every single day? What trials and hardships do we constantly carry?? Some times they come from God, some times from choices we make, and sometimes from other peoples agency. But in verse 47 it says," Peace, peace be unto you, because of your faith in my well beloved, who was from the foundation of the world." Then a few verses down it talks about how the heavens opened and angled ministered unto them. Bringing them peace. And I thought about how often in life we find ourselves in the midst of a very dark cloud, but as we put our faith in Jesus Christ we can find peace and hope. And in verse 48 it says that they "looked for the voice, and saw angles ministering among them." Even amidst our darkest clouds if we will just look to Jesus Christ and look for the ministering Angel's around us, I know we will find them. I love the book of mormon, and I am so grateful for my savior Jesus Christ.:) he really is the Prince of Peace.
