Hey mama!! We wrote our talks up for some of our investigators that couldn't come to church, so I have it for ya!!! Haha kinda weird but I figured you would like to ready it:) so here it is!!!

Our Divine Inheritance

To start off, I want to tell you a little story about motorcycles. But before we get to that, I think it's important to understand that our divine inheritance is much more than just living with God after we die. Every single person who comes to earth has the opportunity to receive a divine inheritance from God. In fact, we have already received it. We are already living our divine inheritance. That is one of the greatest gifts our Heavenly Father has blessed us with. Heavenly Father's plan of happiness, or plan of Salvation, is extended to all his children. The plan of salvation starts with us living with our Heavenly Father before we came to earth. We call this the premortal world. This makes all humans literal children of God. I believe this is when our divine inheritance started, when we all lived with God. This inheritance continues as we live here on earth and we are tried and tested, but because we have a loving Heavenly Father, he gave us his son, Jesus Christ who walks with us every step of they way through our lives, because he has experienced everything we have gone through. The final step to our divine inheritance is that we ultimately will get to live with our Father in Heaven as well as our families, FOREVER. This is the divine plan our Heavenly Father has blessed us with.

Now to the motorcycle story:

So, when I was growing up my family loved to go camping and ride motorcycles. I remember when I was about 7 or 8, my dad told all of us kids to ”suit up” for our family motorcycle ride. This meant to simply put on our knee pads, helmets, and thick pants. I used to always get nervous before these rides but the nerves would always go away once I started to ride. I rode a small little 50, which is a tiny little motorcycle but it was all the power I need. As we were riding I remember coming upon a very big and rocky hill. I watched my sister go up the hill and crash, I watched my mom go up the hill and crash. I immediately thought if they can't make it up the hill on their big bikes, then there is no way I can make it up on my little bike. My Dad, being a very wise father, saw the fear in my little body as I looked to this seemingly impossible hill and gave me a pep talk. He said, “All you have to do is put your feet on the pegs, give it the gas and go. Give it everything you have and I will be behind you to make sure you don't fall.” Trusting in my Dad that he would not let me fail, I picked my little feet up and put all the power into my bike that I could. I don't remember much of the ride because I am pretty sure I hit every big rock possible, and my helmet was bouncing all over. However, I remember making it to the top of the big hill and being so excited. I was so excited that I made it, I immediately turned around to find my dad, and he was right behind me, with the biggest smile on his face. I didn't understand in the moment, but he had ran behind me the entire time lifting my back tire over every big rock so I didn't fall.

Now you are probably wondering how in the world this ties into the topic of our divine inheritance, but this story is a perfect analogy for our life. I like to think that the rocky and hard hill we have to climb is a great example of life. The bottom of the hill, at the beginning, is when we lived with our Heavenly Father before we came to earth. I picture Heavenly Father giving each of us a pep talk before we came to our dear earthly parents: telling us to give it everything we have, and when we do, he will make up the difference. The top of the hill is like heaven, where we get to live with our families forever. The big rocky path as you know is a representation of our earthly life. The rocks and tree roots represent all the trials and hardships we face. However, the most important part of this story is who helps us through every challenge. In my story is was my Dad. In the analogy to life is the person that walks our entire path alongside us. That is Jesus Christ. He is there for us every single step of the way. When we give everything we have to the Savior, he always makes up the difference, by lifting our back tire over the biggest obstacles we face.

In the talk, Taking upon ourselves the Name of Jesus Christ, Elder Robert Gay states, “No one is preordained to fail. Eternal life is possible for all.” Because our Heavenly Father is so loving he set up a perfect plan. The plan of happiness. This plan ensures all of God's children that they can choose the outcome of their life. They get to choose the degree of their happiness. This is the greatest news because we all have the same opportunity to live with our Heavenly Father and families again.

In the same talk by Elder Robert Gay, he talks about the divine role the Savior plays in each of our lives. He states,

“His love is greater than our fears, our wounds, our addictions, our doubts, our temptations, our sins, our broken families, our depression and anxieties, our chronic illness, our poverty, our abuse, our despair, and our loneliness. He wants all to know there is nothing and no one He is unable to heal and deliver to enduring joy.
His grace is sufficient. He alone descended below all things. The power of His Atonement is the power to overcome any burden in our life. He knows our life situations and that we can always walk with Him no matter where we stand. To you and to each of us, He says, “Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but [shall have] a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14)
In any of life’s travels, why would you ever turn away from the only Savior who has all power to heal and deliver you? Whatever the price you must pay to trust Him is worth it. My brothers and sisters, let us choose to increase our faith in Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ.”

It is my testimony that whatever burden or struggle you are facing right now, only true peace, solace, and comfort can come from Jesus Christ. Echoing the quote above, “Any price you must pay to trust him is worth it.” He truly is the prince of peace. I love him with all my heart.

In closing I would like to share one final quote with you from President Gordon B Hinckley. “I see a wonderful future in a very uncertain world. If we will cling to our values, if we will build on our inheritance, if we will walk in obedience before the Lord, if we will simply live the gospel, we will be blessed in a magnificent and wonderful way. We will be looked upon as a peculiar people who have found the key to a peculiar happiness.”

I testify that this is the key to finding indescribable happiness. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. More than Words can even express. I know that he lives. I know that Joseph Smith truly is a prophet called of God, and that he restored every part of Christ’s church back on the earth today. I am grateful for the Book of Mormon and the power and peace it brings into my life. Never before have I felt like God was speaking to me individually, giving me guidance, then when I read the Book of Mormon. It has changed my life. I know Jesus is the Christ. He is my brother and my friend. This is my testimony, and I leave it with you in the name of our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
