Holy cow another week... haha I tell ya, time is just FLYING! But this week is full of some pretty rad stories, so sorry if this is long, but stay tuned!!
The Exploding tire:
Well on Tuesday this week we were biking home from the far corner of our area and we had about 30 minutes left on our journey... and I started to hear this weird sound from my bike. So I figured my dress was like caught in the chain again lol however, that was not the case. I look down and my back tire had combusted. So I just started laughing because that was just kinda how the day was going (it had been over 100 degrees all day) so we looked on our map and saw that we had some members that were close. So we walked to their house and the miracles started POURING in. First off, they had air conditioning. No one in California has air conditioning. So everyone's houses were 90+ degrees and we were all getting cooked. Ha! but not this lucky members home, they had AC. Blessed. Then we take our bikes back and brother Osborn checks them out and tells us to grab a drink from his fridge. So we opened it and it was like full of so many of my favorite drinks ever. I was so excited. So we grabbed one and were feeling so grateful he could help us then he asked us if we had dinner yet. It was about 8pm and we hadn't, so when we told him he dropped his tools and said "Sisters! Follow me" then he took us back into his air conditioned home, and made us sausage, spinach, and cheese omelets. They were so yummy. They also gave us fresh raspberries in milk with vanilla sugar. I don't even know what that is.... but it is GOOD. And all while he was doing this he told us his conversion story and how he was baptized by president Nelson. WILD RIGHT???? Then while we ate dinner he tried to fix our tire, however, it was too far gone. So we got to ride home in a brand new Audi (step up from our peddling tin cans) haha and the next day he bought a brand new tire for my bike and tuned the whole thing up for me. I mean who does that? The Osborns are the most amazing family ever. We felt so spoiled and so blessed. God always provides.
LEGIT FINE DINNING:
The second wild story for the week. Thursday I was on exchanges with Hermana Caine (fun fact, we went to college together and hung out with the same friend group) but while we were on exchanges EVERY ONE of our appointments fell through so we tracted all day. Around like 5 we were super hungry so we decided we would go grab some food, and we used it as a contact approach. So we asked everyone where their favorite place to eat was, told them we where knew and had some super solid discussions about God. It was awesome. THEN.... we were walking past this restaurant and the owner was sitting outside with his sister. So we started talking to them and asked them if we could give them a card, the guy responded and asked if we would come and eat. However, it looked like a super fancy place so we asked them how much it was. The owner then looked at us and said, "I'll tell you what, you give me a card, and I will let you two eat for free." SO they take us into their restaurant and it was seriously a 5 star restaurant. We sit down and they hand us a menu and tell us to get whatever we want. Sister Caine and I were so crazy excited. When we were looking at the menu everything was over $30. So when we ordered the lady could tell that we ordered the cheapest thing on the menu and she looked at us and said, "Babies, we are here to feed you. That means you need to eat. Order some more. Let's go. You aint leaving hungry." She then proceeded to order 2 appetizers and 2 super fancy entrees. Sister Cain got a rack of Lamb, hah and I got this super yummy fresh salmon dish. It was unreal. But it gets better. Right after we ordered our food she brings out these massive champaign glasses with this super fancy drink... and says, "I know ya'll don't drink, but heres one of our best selling drinks without the alcohol." It was this pineapple ginger mint drink and it was awesome. Sister Caine and I felt like legit royalty. They would check on us every 10 minutes and told us stories and we just chatted. The food was absolutely unreal, and when we finished they even brought us desert. Talk about being spoiled. We were so blessed. We made life long friends on Thursday, and they filled our hearts with joy. We ate at one of the fanciest restaurants, in one of the most wealthy areas, and it was all free. God is aware of all of us and pours blessings upon us. I know that God truly loves all his children, and he sends us little blessings. Have an awesome week.
