Ahh hello my friends!!!!! Only one more week till Christmas!!!!!! If that's not exciting I don't know what is.

This week has been great and super busy!! I am getting transferred tomorrow so it's been full of packing , goodbye's and lots of yummy Christmas treats! I will be moving to south San Jose tomorrow and get to be with Sister Folkman from Oregon. She is super awesome, and I am excited to spend Christmas with her. I love my two sweet companions and it's going to be sad to leave them, we have so much fun. However, I have been here for 7 months so I am looking forward to being in a new area. :)

Cool thought for this week
As I was reading Ether chapter 2 today I had some some cool insight. First off I want nothing more than to have faith like the brother of Jared. The Lord guided him constantly and was in his presence, even though Christ was behind a cloud. In verse 17 it says tight like unto a dish 5 times. Why does it say that 5 times??? I was curious... like okay we get it... the barges are SUPER tight. Like unto a dish.. and I didn't understand it until I read a little farther down the chapter. In verse 24 the Lord gives the brother of Jared a glimpse of some of the trials they will face on their journey. It says the "mountain waves shall dash upon you" then is says that the Lord will deliver them from these trials. However, the very last sentence says, "for the winds have gone forth out of my mouth, and also the rains and the floods have I sent forth."

Now this made me think about a few things, if the Lord is controlling the winds, rains, and floods, why doesn't he just let the brother of Jared and his people have a joyous smooth sailing ride?? Why do they have to build these incredibly sturdy barges, commanded by the Lord??

Well the answer comes in verse 25. It says, "And behold, I prepare you against these things; for ye can not cross this great deep save I shall prepare a way for you against the waves of the sea."

I'm sure all of us can testify wherever we are at in our lives that the sea is never smooth. There are ALWAYS mountain waves crashing against us. However, God knows we can not go through this life, save he shall prepare the way for us. The way through this life is to be tested. That's the MAIN reason we are here. The Lord is preparing us right now, for the waves and trials to come.

So, right now...are you being built tight like a dish? Or are you amidst your journey to the promised land?? Wherever you may be, it is my testimony that you are in the Lords hand. He promises, "I will prepare a way for you." And that is his promise to us. Let us all celebrate our wonderful savior who gave up everything for us, so we can all make it to the promise land. A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor. ❤

Have a wonderful week. Love you all, Merry Christmas!!:)
