** Note from Mom-
Hello Everyone!  As you know the church has changed the way missionaries can communicate with their families. Instead of twice a year, we can now talk to our missionary every week on P-Day.  This makes me so happy and I believe it will be helpful with the transition into the mission field as well as the transition out of the mission field.  It was a wonderful blessing to talk to Shelby yesterday as it was her birthday.  She told us many stories that I will try to pass on to you.  She sent pictures with a few explanations, but most of her information was verbal this week.  All I can say is that she loves being a missionary, she loves serving for the Savior, and her testimony is growing everyday.
This was a story she told us when we called:

I experienced a very tender mercy this week. On Valentines Day we had cleaning checks.  The missionary couple that came to our apartment to do our cleaning check were so adorable and we visited for a minute before they did the cleaning check.  The elder said "Hmmmm, Sister Wiser....I served with an Elder Wiser when I went on my mission as a young man.  His name was Dean Wiser, do you know him?"  I immediately burst into tears and told him that was my grandpa, and that he had passed away 20 years ago.  I asked him to tell me some stories, which he did.  He didn't know that Grandpa had passed away and was sad to hear that.  But we had a very special moment where I felt so loved by my Heavenly Father and that my Grandpa Wiser knows where I am as well.

Here is some more highlights from her week:

On Friday we got news that we could call our families weekly instead of only twice a year and I AM SOOO EXCITED!!  Because of this my email will be a little different this week because I got to tell all my stories to my family in person. It was so great to talk to my family.

Verranika :)

This is us cleaning the font for Verannika's was baptism. She was baptized and confirmed this week and it was amazing! I love her so much and I'm so happy for her!!! She has hard a hard life and will be so blessed

We went to the  Oakland temple with one of our favorite families. The husband isn't baptized (yet) and we made such amazing strides with him. While we were at the temple taking pictures the wife made a sign that says "bring sister Folkman back," because I can come back for his baptism and it was so funny!!!

We had him hold the sign for the picture and he read it afterwards.  He got a good laugh at it.

when we were leaving the temple, a car was driving very recklessly and hit the car in front of us. After it his the car it went on two wheels and then miraculously landed back on four wheels and then car drove off. Thankfully a cop was there and started chasing the car. We found out later that it was two 13 and 14 year old boys who had robbed a store and stole a car and they were trying to get away, they hit a total of 7 cars!!!!! So scary!

Ice Cream after the Temple :)

We bought matching socks!!!
That's our art wall behind us - we love to water color.

This was the best valentines! Sister Folkman's family sent her a huge edible arrangement!!! So we had the other sisters come over and we sat around and ate chocolate covered strawberries and pineapple.
We were happy companions....until
Sister Folkman and I were making rice-crispy treats when the phone rang and we got transfer calls. We were very surprised and saddened to hear that Sister Folkman is being transferred to Branem. And not only that! She will be in a trio with my former companion, Sister Sim from Korea, another sister from Japan, and they will be in a Spanish area. So basically it's going to be a struggle because they both didn't know English before their mission and now they are going to be speaking Spanish half the time hahahahaha so that should be fun!!
This was the picture we sent to our mission president after we received transfer calls
