Well it's been an amazing week full of lots of meetings and changes. We had transfers last week and we had 2 new sisters join our zone. Ones from Idaho her names Sister Neal, and the other ones from Guatemala and her name is Sister Carrannza. They are the sweetest sisters and so full of greenie fire I love it. I honestly can hardly remember what happened this week .. hah
Tracting miracle
So on Saturday we were biking to the other side of our area and we saw this street we wanted to tract so we wrote it down and decided we would tract it on our way home, so as the end of the day was nigh we started biking home and went to this street. It started off kinda slow and no one was really home, then we knocked on this door and this man answers and starts talking to us and wasn't super open to our message. Then he went on talking about much of an atheist he was and he didn't want us on his porch.... then we asked him a question (I don't even remember what it was) and he opens his door and super kindly invited us in. So we started chatting and became friends real quick and by the end of our hour conversation we told him we did peoples family history, he was like begging us to help him. He went from telling us how his scientific background proved we were wrong, to literally being our best friend. So many wonderful things happened in that situation, the Lord softens peoples heart, and the spirit must have relayed a message he needed to hear. Any ways, his name is Ted, he is a chemist and an absolute genius, and his neighbor owns Facebook. He told us he would give us the security guards number for the owner of Facebook ... but when we asked him for it he changed the subject real quick. So either he doesn't know them that well..... or he is being stingy with his cool connections. Anyways, theres a super random story for you. It's the first one that came to mind.
In close of this little email I want to share a cool thing I learned in relief society. Our teacher told us about Michael Collins who was one of the 3 astronauts who first walked on the moon. While Neil and Buzz landed on the moon with their lunar rover Michel Collins stayed In the ship that was circling the moon. He navigated around the moon for 21 hours straight, but every time he would fly behind the moon he would loose ALL connection with earth for 47 minutes. He was truly all alone, and on the dark side of the moon. When we were talking about this in relief society we talked about in life we often find ourselves on the dark side of the moon, that we feel like we have lost connection with God. This happens to all of us. In 1 nephi 8:8 we read about Lehis dream, it says after MANY HOURS of wandering in darkness I began to pray with all my might THEN I began to see the great and spacious building. But he wandered in darkness for hours. Part of our earthly life is to wander in darkness, we aren't supposed to be fully in control all the time. If we were we would never learn. So moral of the story when we find our selves on the dark side of the moon, confused, sad, or lost keep moving forward with faith. There will be light in the future and it's all part of the plan. I have been studying light and darkness and its absolutely fascinating. I hope you have the best day, and a fantastic week. I love you and I love being a missionary.
