Holy cow!! I don't even know where to start today. Hold on everyone it's been an AMAZING week. This week seemed to be one of the longest but slowest weeks ever. Hah Sister Thomas and I got to travel around the mission to all the zone conferences this week and give some presentations. We Introduced a new tool to work with members, its called the Gathering place. Basically it's a "dinner menu" but each food item is a way for members to share the Gospel with their friends. They have simple ways and more complex ways, but we are turning our member lessons into plans to gather Israel and get everyone involved in this great cause. It's amazing. So we trained on that and then introduced our 4th quarter theme "born for this." We focused on our pre-mortal covenant to gather Israel and the promised we made with our heavenly father before we came to earth. It went super well and we had a lot of fun with it.
Now for the miracles. There are 3 I'm going to tell you about.
#1
The mission got permission to go to the temple twice a year if we take a family name. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ So we get to take 1 service hour a week and try and find names for the temple, and then in October and April we get to go. Oh man I got a little teary when they told us I was so excited.
#2 THIS IS UNREAL.
So last week we get a call from the mission office and they told us they got a call from a lady who said she wanted to take the missionary lessons. So we called her and she was so excited to meet with us. We set up a meeting for 9am the very next morning and she seriously couldn't wait. So the next day she showed up early to our lesson and was all dressed up. Anyways we met with her every day last week and every lesson she told us how much she loves the book of mormon, general conference, our teaching. She accepts and rejoices over everything we teach and tells us she wants to be baptized every lesson. She is UNREAL. She wants to get baptized but needs to come to church and is working on changing her work schedule to make it possible. She had a friend named Kevin who introduced her to the Gospel and when he did he told her about the word of wisdom and that day she stopped drinking coffee. She was drinking 10 cups a day. WHAT. can you believe this. She is so prepared and so on fire and loves the church so much. We love her and are so grateful for her.
#3 This story is about a girl named Patricia. She is here from Brazil and has been here for 3 months. She has been studying with the previous missionaries for a while then they stopped working with her. However when we met her she is honestly the most prepared person ever. So this week we taught a lesson where we went over the spirit. What it is, how it feels. Then we went through the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Faith, repentance, baptism, holy ghost and enduring to the end) when we got to the gift of the holy Ghost and explained what it really is, and how it stays with us forever after we are baptized. We asked her if she wanted that in life. She said of course. So we asked her what she was willing to do and she said, "Well you just said I need to get baptized to have it. I'm going to be baptized." She then said her very first prayer in front of us and asked heavenly father when she should be baptized. She moved her baptismal date from November 30th to November 9th. We were all in tears it was so amazing.
I feel like I could go on and on about ways we saw the lords hand this week. Sister Neiufi and I are so extremely blessed. I love being a missionary. I love being a representative of Christ. I love Introducing myself and Sister Wiser and as a missionary and representative of Christ. I love when people cautiously ask us if we are nuns. I love telling people about the book of mormon. I love working with the YSA. I love my companion. I love seeing lives changes, and seeing the lord bless and minister to his children. I know God lives. I know he is aware of us. During a baptism this week we had Andrea's the newly baptized member get up and bear his testimony. He sobbed through the whole thing because of his new clean start, and he could feel how much God loved him. Following my savior Jesus Christ is the reason I do this. I know he loves me, and I know he loves you. I hope you can feel it. Have the most wonderful week. Love you.
