Hello hello! It's been another great week in San Jose! Also wasn't conference amazing!???!! Wow. I love it. One of the main themes that stood out to me was to be ALL IN. Focus on Jesus Christ, plow forward and quit looking around. :) I seriously loved conference and cant wait to read them all again!
This week has been full of super cool experiences. We did Chalkboards again on campus and got to wear the institute's club shirt. It was super fun, we had bible quizzes, and activities people responded really well. There was one lady who came up who's name is Mercedes. The first thing I told her is that we were both named after cars. Hah we formed a fast friendship. Anyways Mercedes grew up religious and has been looking for a community. This week we have already met with her multiple times. She came to church, and is reading the book of mormon. She is also inviting her apartment to join her in activities. She is the sweetest human. She is so prepared and so fun. We are really excited to keep teaching her this week.
Highlight:
So this week we were contacting on campus and it usually gets a little hectic because we try and talk to every single person no matter how close together they are. So this week I had Sister Neiufi take the lead.. and she was getting shut down left and right. I felt bad but wanted her to see that she could do it. So I waited for a little bit and she got shut down a few more times.. then with all of the energy in the world she turns to this little squirrel grabbing some food right next to us, and starts yelling her contacting approach at this little animal. She was so excited and full of energy that the squirrel stopped dead in its tracks as she yelled "Hi! How are you? My name is Sister Neiufi and this is my companion Sister Wiser. We are sharing a life changing message that will bring you true happiness and a lot of joy. Can we share it with you??" Then the little squirrel disappeared and she turned to me and said "well at least he listened." I was laughing so hard I couldn't talk for like 10 minutes. Sister Neiufi is a champ. We have lots of fun.
No Longer a Palangi
So my companion is Tongan and they call white people Palangis hah so often times she refers to me as her little palangi and laughs because I am small. But this week I've been trying to learn some tongan hymns so I can sing with her, and after practicing for a while she stops the music, turns to me and says, " You're no longer Palangi.. you Tongan." Boys and girls looks like I've finally made the cut. 😏 Watch out San Jose you got 2 tongans coming your way.
This weeks going to be a wild one, Sister Thomas and I get to travel to all the zone conferences to present the 4th quarter theme "born for this!" I am really excited we have been working hard. Have the most amazing week. Have some fun, stay focused on Christ and don't forget God loves you! :)
Sister Wiser
So I failed at taking pictures this week..Haha looks like this bomb desert and matching rain boots are the only things that made the cut. Whoops. Will do better next week. Love you!
