Wow this week was AMAZING. I'm not quite sure where to start.
NEW DIVERSE COMPANIONSHIP:
Well.... Great news.. we are now in a trio. Our new companion is from Brazil and is new to the California San Jose Mission. Her name is Sister Esteves and she is the sweetest gal ever!! We love her. So we now have a Tongan, Portugese, Spanish and english within our companionship and oh man it's a HOOT! hah, one of my favorite moments this week is when my two foreign companions were talking about how much they want to have American accents, so everything I would say, they would mimic it identically. hah it happens all the time, they think they are so funny. Often times I will say a phrase and then I hear it on repeat for the next 30 seconds. They were trying to describe donuts this week and kept calling it bread ring things... haha needless to say I laugh a lot.
Lesson With Jenifer and Fam
Oh we speak Tongan.. Portugese.. English and apparently Chinese??
I mentioned how we have a lot of different languages in our companionship ha but oddly enough our first lesson we taught was in Chinese. I was kinda stressed going in because we were mixing 4 cultures and 4 languages and a freshly combined companionship with 2 new missionaries but it was one of the most amazing lessons ever. I don't know why I was nervous this is the lord's work... not ours. SO anyways back to the story we went to teach a part member family that just moved here. Their names are Alex and Nan and they are so sweet! Alex is a member of the church but his sweet wife isn't. We have taught them quite a few time but weren't making any progress. Until this week!! So we went into the lesson with our trio and Alaina Robert's (she served her mission in Australia with my brother Stanton). We started of by talking about who God is, and how he loves us, and at the end of the lesson Nan looks at us and in her Chianese accent she says," I don't know what I'm feeling right now but I feel happy and safe and excited and I feel energy from my head to my toes!" She was literally glowing. Then we asked her husband how he felt and he said that he felt the spirit, and he hadn't cried in 2 years and he was about to so he was going to stop talking. It was so sweet. So we identified the spirit and what it testifies of. Then she told us how she was going to pray every single day. It was so amazing!!
Arianas Baptism:
Ariana got baptized and it was so amazing!! She was so happy and it went so smooth. We are so blessed. I will send pictures!
Is Hugging still Illegal if its from an Apostle??
So great news... we went to see Elder Uchtdorf speak and we took a lot of people we are teaching. It was so amazing and the spirit was so strong. It was at the church on Standford campus and it was so beautiful!!! Afterward we went up to shake his hand and we ended up getting to talk with him for about 4 minutes. It was AMAZING. We told him that Alexandra (one of our investigators) was getting baptized in a week and he talked right to her and gave her a hug. It was MAGICAL. We are so blessed.
It's been an awesome week. There are so many miracles. For Halloween this week.... why don't you do some family history??? Do some work for you ancestors! Love you!
